Kashmir is a region known for its breathtaking natural beauty and equally breathtaking dances. It is a common belief there that dances not only help a person relax but also initiate deep thinking.

For this dance form, in particular, the women need to undergo special training.

Santoor, an instrument that has 100 strings and is played with thin sticks, is used extensively to accompany this dance.

The dresses are very vibrant and include kurtas, pherans and silver jewelry.
